学习动机直接影响学习者的学习成果,而学习动机减退(demotivation)作为学习动机的一部分受到越来越多的关注。英语学习动机减退会导致学习者逐渐消极对待甚至放弃英语学习。在过去的几十年间,国内外研究者做了大量的英语学习动机减退的研究,这些研究在研究对象、研究内容和研究方法上都有各自的特点,文章综述了国内外英语学习动机减退的相关理论研究。

Learning motivation attributes a lot to learning achievement. The reduction and loss of motivation (demotivation), which leads to passivity and even giving up in language learning process, receives more and more attention in SLA. In the last decades, many studies have been carried out on learning motivation abroad and at home, making a lot of achievements. These researches have their own features on the participants, contents and research methods. A brief summary about the researches on demotivation has been made in this paper.
