摘要
查尔斯·弗里斯(Charles C.Fries,1887-1967),作为美国结构主义学派的代表人之一,比起布隆菲尔德(Bloomfield)与萨皮尔(Sapir)而言,他的语言交际观与同时期该学派的主流语言学家有明显不同。弗里斯认为语言不仅是传递意义的信号代码,而且是一种交际活动,我们可以预测话语社区成员对话语做出的常规回应。该文旨在从弗里斯语言交际观中的预测思想出发,结合同声传译的特点,来探究同声传译过程中的预测过程及具体操作,以期对同传预测有所启示。
Charles C·Fries was the representative figure in American structural linguistics. What distinguished him from his other contemporary linguists were his linguistic theories. According to Fries, language is the code of signals to transmit meaning. Lan-guage is also communication. We can predict the pattern of the regular responses of the members of linguistic community. This pa-per is to probe into the correlation between Fries'prediction and simultaneous interpretation and the feasible prediction strategies in simultaneous interpretation.
