如今,英语电影因其精彩的特效、紧凑的剧情和细致的人物刻画成功打入中国市场并受到广大观众的喜爱,而片名作为电影的"门面"在揭示作品主题和宣传电影内容上有不可替代的作用,这对片名汉译提出了极大的要求和挑战。该文简要分析了电影片名翻译经历的四大潮流,总结片名翻译的5种主要方法,即直译、意译、音译、套译、另译法,对片名汉译进行了相关探索。

English movies today have succeeded in penetrating Chinese market and gained great popularity with mass audiences by virtue of its wonderful visual effects,compacting plots,as well as meticulous characterization. As the facade of a movie,movie title plays an irreplaceable role in exposing the theme and publicizing the contents of the movie,rendering translators great requirements and challenges when translating titles into Chinese. This paper conducts related exploration of title translation,which briefly analyzes the four major trends movie titles translation have experienced,summarizes five major methods of title translation,namely literal translation,liberal translation,transliteration,corresponding translation, and creative translation.
