Because of the characteristics of political euphemisms,politicians often adopt them in political events.But how do they express their deep implications,or what have influenced the interpretations of their meanings? By analyzing the identity concept,the social contexts can be better understood.The formation of political euphemisms is based on metonymy.So by analyzing their social backgrounds and the metonymy mechanism,the hidden truths and the political intentions will be exposed.The emergence of political euphemisms is never an accident.It is deeply rooted in the culture.As one of people s important cognitive mechanisms,the metonymy mechanism and specific cultural backgrounds influence the interpretations of the meanings of political euphemisms together.
