摘要
中国的外语教育事业是一项浩大的工程,也有着不短的历史。尽管在过去半个多世纪里,这个国家的高等外语教育事业拥有巨大的规模并呈现一派繁荣的景象,而存在的问题和挑战也是无法否认的。目前,高等外语教育在多种层面上都无法应对全球一体化和信息化社会发展的需求。高校外语教师,他们是改变高校外语教育困局的实施者,理应在实际教学工作中,尽最大努力充实自身的业务内涵,更需观察外语教学的新动向,探索新的教学法,尝试先进的教学手段,在新形势下,确立新的自身角色定位和转型。
China's foreign language education is a huge project with long history. Despite the prosperity of foreign language educa-tion, the problems and challenges it faces are undeniable. Foreign language education in universities is unable to synchronize withthe globalization and the development of Information Society. To terminate this predicament, foreign language teachers, responsiblefor this duty, should do their best to achieve the followings: self-enhancement in the profession, observation to the pedagogicaltrend,exploration of the new teaching methods, and most of all, the successful role redefinition.
