Cognitive linguists hold that Metaphor is a mode of thinking and that it is constructed from the mapping from the sourcedomain to the target domain in the conceptual system. This paper, adopting a dynamic construal approach, intends to investigatethe cognitive mechanism of the identification and comprehension of verbal metaphor.
