The theory of interlanguage is an essential theory in the research of second language acquisition. The research resultsmotivate educators and researchers to have a reasonable and clear understanding of the unique language system constructed by sec-ond language learners. Knowledge about interlanguage and its implications on how to conduct teaching in the classroom benefit theteaching quality and teaching outcomes to a large extent. With foreign language teachers' understanding of the relationship amongnative language, target language, and interlanguage and applying the implications into practices, it is firmly believed that the teach-ing quality and students' language proficiency will be enhanced significantly. This article is aimed at discussing research on inter-language and providing practical advice on English teaching.
