MOOCs in College English Teaching: Prospects and Problems

慕课给大学英语教学改革带来了新技术和新思路。慕课翻转了课堂教学模式,更新了传统教材,改善了师生关系,也拓展了教学范围。但国内慕课的发展仍处于起步阶段,如何进一步开发大学英语慕课,如何衔接慕课与学分制,如何满足学习者个性化需求,如何定位慕课系统中教师的角色,都是亟待解决的问题。

Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs)bring convenience,opportunities as well as challenges to College English Teaching.MOOCs have altered the input-dominated classroom teaching mode,renewed the traditional paper textbooks,changed the asymmetrical teacher-student relationship and extend the range of learners.Current problems of MOOCs include:(i)how to enlarge the courses available for students,(ii)how to combine MOOCs with the credit system,(iii)how to satisfy students individual needs and(iv)how to define teacher s role in MOOCs system.
