情态一词的英文是"modality",它是基于逻辑认知的语义概念,具体是用情态动词或情态副词来表示说话者针对命题所做主观判断的语义范畴。1情态意义的研究大致分两类,以情态类型为辅助,一种侧重从情态句法到情态语义。一种侧重形式语义学和语用学框架下的情态语义研究。亨利波特纳引入了优先情态。他细分了六小类情态类型。结合情态语义的两种研究方法和新的情态类型划分,以白日焰火电影对白为例,探究句子情态。

Modality,as a semantic term,refers to the subjective judgment of proposition from the speakers by means of modality verbs and adverbs.The study of modality can be classified into two groups:one is based on the framework of syntactic seman-tics,the other is based on the theory of Logic semantics.Combined the two methods and Paul Partner's studies as a whole,this paper aims at research in sentential modality.
