摘要
Internationalization as a global trend has brought cultural and educational issues which initiate rigorous consideration of intercultural education in terms of cultural diversity. It is therefore urgent to reflect on both theoretical positions and practical approaches of intercultural education in light of new challenges. The study starts with emphasizing the increasingly crucial role of intercultural education in international dimension, both at the national and international level. Then it turns to three specific challenges, namely language, traditional culture and identity, confronted with intercultural education. Divergent approaches adopted by different countries to deal with these challenges are also discussed to allow for comparison and potential solutions.
