翻译的诗学操纵——方平的两个《亨利五世》中译本评析

The Poetological Manipulation: An Analysis of Fang Ping's Two Translations of Henry V

操纵学派的代表人物安德烈·勒菲弗尔认为翻译是在一定程度上对于原文的"重写",是受到特定社会环境下意识形态、诗学观和赞助人等因素影响的结果。该文试从操纵理论三要素之一的诗学要素为基础,以方平《亨利五世》的两个中译本为研究对象,阐明诗学操纵对译者翻译行为的影响,表明在一定的社会文化环境中,译者受到诗学的影响,操纵译文更符合译入语主流诗学的主张。

Andre Lefevere, the representative of manipulation school, holds that translation is a rewriting of source text to some extent, which is the result of the constraints of ideology, poetics and patronage in a certain historical context. Applying the key concepts manipulation theory, with a focus on the constraint of poetics, to an analysis of Fang Ping’s two Chinese translations of Henry V this study attempts to illuminate how constraint of poetics influences the translator’s handling of the text, and indi-cates that the translator manipulates translation in order to make it conform to dominant poetics in certain historical background.
