The Definitions of Formulaic Sequences Revisited

程式语在本族语者语言使用中大量存在,这已是一个不争的事实。在过去的四十多年里,学者们从不同的理论视角对程式语进行了研究,然而,由于理论背景、研究方法和研究目的的差异,不同的研究者往往使用不同的术语和定义来指称和界定程式语,这种术语繁多的情况在一定程度上阻碍了不同视角研究的对话和交流。该文对国内外相关文献中所使用的代表性术语及其定义进行了梳理和评析,在此基础上笔者基于多个层面提出对程式语新的定义。

It is an undeniable fact that formulaic sequences constitute a significant part of native speakers’language use. For the past four decades or so, scholars have conducted a great deal of research on formulaic sequences from different theoretical per-spectives. However, due to differences in theoretical background, research methodology, and research objectives, different re-searchers tend to use different terms and definitions to refer to and delineate formulaic sequences. This variety of terms, to a cer-tain extent, has impeded the dialogue between studies from different theoretical angles. In this article, some representative terms and their definitions used in the literature both home and abroad are categorized and commented upon, and based on this, the au-thor’s new definition of formulaic sequences is tentatively put forward.
