摘要
卡特福德是英国著名的语言学和翻译理论家,注重从语言学的角度对翻译进行研究。他的主要理论观点是等值转换理论。笔者首先对卡特福德及其相关翻译理论进行介绍和简评,随后对其翻译理论的局限性从三个方面进行简要分析,最后概括了卡特福德翻译理论的意义。
J.C. Catford is a famous linguist and translation theorist who focusing on analyzing translation linguistically. This study first give a brief review of Catford's translation theory of equivalence. Afterwards the limitations of his theory are unfolded from three perspectives. Lastly, the significance of his theory is summarized.
