On the Intertextual Effects of Poetry and Drama Quotations in the Movie Dead Poets Society

电影《春风化雨》自1989年首映以来,受到文学界、影视界乃至教育界的高度关注,评论不断,视角各异,但鲜有人对影片中嵌入的诗歌和戏剧文本进行研究。该文借助互文性理论,详细分析这些诗歌和戏剧的引用对于电影情节的推动、人物的刻画以及主题的深化所起的重要作用。

Since its debut in 1989, the American movie, Dead Poets Society, has attracted great attention from the circles of literature, motion picture and even the education. Despite the large number of commentaries, the various quotations of poems and drama in the movie have not received due review attention. Based on Theory of Intertextuality, this paper makes a detailed analysis on how these quoted texts contribute to the success of the movie in terms of plot promotion, character depiction, and theme intensification.
