从翻译适应选择论看中医术语的英译

On the Translation of TCM Terms from the Perspective of Translation as Adaptation and Selection

中医术语是中医的重要组成部分,做好中医术语的英译对传播中医文化起着至关重要的作用。翻译适应选择论是能对翻译实质和翻译原则做出新解的新译论,把翻译定义为"译者适应翻译生态环境的选择活动"。作为一个新角度,翻译适应选择论可以用来探讨中医术语英译的原则和方法。具体来讲,译者在适应中医术语的翻译生态环境时,应遵循"多维度适应和适应性选择"的翻译原则,灵活运用"三维转换"的翻译方法。

As an important part of TCM(traditional Chinese medicine), TCM terms should be translated soundly to promote the transmission of TCM. Translation as Adaptation and Selection(TAS) explains the nature of translation and translation principle from a new perspective and defines translation as a translator’s adaptation and selection activities in a translational eco-environ-ment. As a new view of research, TAS can be used to explore the translation of TCM terms. Specifically speaking, when adapt-ing to the translational eco-environment of TCM terms, the translator should follow two translation principles-multi-dimension-al adaptation and adaptive selection and apply one translation method-three-dimensional transformation.
