摘要
English for Specific Purposes(ESP) is an inevitable trend for reform of college English teaching. The paper is on the basis of theories on ESP teaching. Based on extensive investigation, it analyzes the main problems in current college English teaching which is EGP-oriented(English for General Purpose) and the necessity of teaching model"EGP + ESP"is demonstrated in this paper. Moreover, it discusses specific measures on how to conduct teaching reform on the combination of"EGP and ESP"from five aspects including faculty construction, selection of teaching materials, curriculum design, teaching model, evaluation system in order to change students' general dissatisfaction for college English teaching and achieve the goal to cultivate interdisciplinary talents of foreign language for society.
