语法翻译法在独立学院英语教学中的应用

Application of Grammar Translation Method in Independent College English Teaching

我国独立学院是高等教育发展的重要组成部分,发展迅速。由于录取分数较低,独立学院的学生具有不同于一般公办本科院校学生的特点,在英语学习方面体现为基础不扎实,学习习惯不好等。语法翻译法作为一种传统教学方法,提倡母语教学,以语法学习为主要方式。这种教学方法对独立学院的英语教学有着独特的作用,与其他教学方法如交际法等结合后能够起到良好的教学效果。本文结合当前独立学院英语教学现状,讨论在教学中适当运用语法翻译教学法的积极作用。

As an important part of Chinese higher education, independent colleges have developed rapidly in recent years. But usually the students in independent colleges aren't as excellent as those in public universities or colleges because of their lower college entrance examination scores, and most of them haven't good habits in learning. As a traditional teaching method with mother-tongue teaching and grammar-learning as the main way, Grammar translation method plays a unique role and works well in independent college English teaching, especially when combined with other teaching methods such as communicative method. In this paper, the author tries to discuss on the active role of grammar translation method in English classes according to the current status of the independent college English teaching.
