摘要
Reception theory, a newly developed discipline, is an audience- oriented film title translation approach. According to Reception Aesthetics, the historical life of a literary work is unthinkable without the active participation of the readers. With the reception theory as the theoretical background, it will pilot the basic points of the translation of film titles, namely, informative value, cultural value, aesthetic value, and commercial value, with the five pragmatic methods of general translation. Furthermore, it also takes the factor of intercultural factors into consideration when discussing this topic.
