The American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter is about a forbidden love between a Reverend Dimmesdale and a married woman Hester Prynne. There have been numerous studies about it from different perspectives since its publication in 1850. This paper aims to reveal how Hawthorne weaves witch's images and witchcraft's mysteries into his work The Scarlet Letter, and is relevant to the influence that these two mysterious elements have on this work.
