摘要 No Signpost in the Sea is a novel of the famous British poet and novelist----V.Sackville-West.In this novel,V.SackvilleWest described a man called Edmund Carr who is dying out of disease took a purposeless journey on the sea.This thesis is a tentative effort to understand and appreciate the work from stylistic perspective,it mainly analyze the passage from four aspects:lexical categories,grammatical categories,figure of speech and cohesion and context.
