摘要 This thesis aims to study Jonathan Swift's satirical rhetoric of Gulliver's Travels and persons can know clearly about themselves through satirizing. This paper comes to a conclusion as follows: First, the rhetoric of satire consists of exaggeration,contrast, irony and so on. Second, the satirical objects are extremely clear. The objects contain the frightful politics, evil colonist,the evil side of Human Nature, and absurd academic system. Third, this paper will analyse from linguistic and narrative of the satire aesthetic significance.
