摘要
Young Goodman Brown is one of the most popular short stories written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Since its publication,quite a lot of analyses have been made of this short but excellent story. In reading the book, one can never miss those symbolic meanings. However, with an analysis of the journey which Brown takes, the artistic skills and symbolic images carefully employed by Hawthorne, this thesis aims at describing the loss of faith, and also attempting to seek the reasons for Brown's tragedy and find possible solution to this dilemma of faith crisis.
