在不同浓度的三乙胺乙酸乙酯溶液中2-甲基环戊-1,3-二酮(2)与氯代甲基乙烯酮(1b)反应可分别得三酮(3b)、α-氯代醇(4a)或环氧双酮(5a).4a 经 X 射线单晶衍射分析结果推断出5a 的环氧是β构型,其异构体7为α,用相似的方法制得的同系环氧物5b 也经 X 射线单晶衍射分析,结果表明其环氧为β构型.

2-Methylcyclopentane-1,3-dione(2)reacts with chloromethyl vinyl ketone to givetrione 3b,chlorohydrin 4a or epoxide 5a as the main product depending on theconcentration of triethylamine used.X-ray analysis of 4a shows that the confi-guration of epoxide in 5a is β and that of the known isomer 7 is α.The homologousepoxide 5b,prepared in a similar way is shown to be a β-epoxide.
