阴谋家的“微明”——读《老子》与《孙子兵法》札记

"Wei Ming" from the Perspective of a Schemer——Reading Notes about Lao Tseu and Master Sun’s Art of War

《老子》第36章论及'柔弱胜强',强调'微明'的作用。'微',应读若'昧',犹言'非''无','微明'即是让对方或假想敌'不明',蒙在鼓里,昧然不觉。而《孙子》等兵法书,所求的就是使敌人不知不觉,入其彀中。所以,兵家就是阴谋家,其权谋一定要在幽昧冥暗中筹策。

Chapter 36 of Lao Tseu talks about'the weak beats the strong'and it emphasizes the significance of'Wei Ming'.The character'Wei'should be interpreted as'Mei',which means'not'or'no'.'Wei Ming'means enabling the opposite party or the imaginary enemy to'not understand',be kept in the drum,and be not clear about it.In the book of Master Sun’s Art of War,what is pursued is enabling the enemy to be unwitting and fall under the trap.Therefore,the military strategists are schemers,and their tactics must be planned in an imperceptible way.
