Objective To investigate the clinical effect of 18μg intramuscular injection of mouse nerve growth factor combined with injection of methylprednisolone sodium succinate in the treatment of traumatic retinal optic nerve contusion. Methods Forty patients(40 eyes)with traumatic retinal optic nerve contusion in our hospital from June 2016 to April 2018 were randomly divided into observation group and control group,20 cases(20 eyes). The control group was treated with methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection, and the observation group was given intramuscular injection of 18μg of nerve growth factor for injection+sodium methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection. The therapeutic effects of the two groups and the visual field changes after 1 month of treatment[average visual field defect(MD),mean light sensitivity(MS)]were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 90.00%higher than that of the control group(60.00%,P<0.05).After 1 month of treatment, the MS and MD of the observation group were better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Intramuscular injection of mouse nerve growth factor 18μg combined with injection of methylprednisolone sodium succinate is effective in treating traumatic retinal optic nerve contusion, which can effectively reduce visual field defects, improve optic nerve and promote disease recovery.
