The Return-to-Nature of Wordsworth and Tao Yuanming

华兹华斯和陶渊明都是回归自然的诗人。他们的回归自然都含有物质、精神两个层面,两人回归自然虽表现出一些简单相似,如都含有回到物质自然界的浅显意味,但更主要的是表现出根本不同:陶渊明的回归自然是由仕途"归园田"再"返自然",华兹华斯的回归自然是由世俗社会回到物质自然,继而回归精神自然或上帝信仰。

Both William Wordsworth and Tao Yuanming are poets who have returned to nature. The return-to-Nature of either poet has a property of the physical and the spiritual levels. On these two levels their return-to-Natures have shown some simple similarities,for instance,with a common surface meaning of going back to the natural world; but most importantly,they have shown basic differences. To say the least,Tao's return-to-Nature is a return from his official career to fields and garden and then to total spiritual freedom,while that of Wordsworth is a return from the secular society to the physical nature and further to the spiritual Nature or to the faith of God.
