摘要
文章回顾了Lakoff和Johnson的概念隐喻理论和Fauconnier的概念整合理论,分析了两种理论框架下的隐喻认知机制,总结出这两种理论在隐喻意义构建中的异同和互补性。相同之处在于两种理论都是用映射机制解释隐喻概念,不同之处在于两者的映射过程。概念隐喻理论对隐喻新意义的产生缺乏解释力,而概念整合理论正好弥补了这一不足。两种理论的互相补充和结合可以进一步发展和完善隐喻的认知机制。
In this article,the author first reviews Lakoff and Johnson's conceptual metaphor theory and Fauconnier's conceptual blending theory,then analyzes the cognitive mechanism of metaphor with these two theories. Finally,the author compares their similarities,differences and complementarity in metaphorical meaning construction with these two theories. It shows that their similarity lies in the mapping mechanism,while the difference lies in the process of the mapping. Conceptual metaphor theory lacks explanation to the new metaphorical meaning,but the conceptual blending theory can cover this shortage. The two theories complemented and combined with each other will make the cognitive mechanism of metaphor developed and improved.
