Inheriting Yuefei’s Spiritual Legacy,Promoting Splendid Chinese Culture

岳飞是家喻户晓的民族英雄,在其一生戎马生涯中,与宜兴这座城市结下了不解之缘。他在此抗金平盗,保境安民;挥毫泼墨,长叹家国情怀;又在宜兴娶妻生子。宜兴人民感恩戴德,建祠立庙世代缅怀岳飞。

General Yuefei,widely known as a patriot and national warrior hero in China,had a strong association with Yixing(a county-level city in southern Jiangsu province).First,Yixing was a major battlefield in Yuefei’s fighting against the invasion of Jin.Second,Yixing was protected from thieves and Jin’s invasion,and finally gained peace because of Yuefei’s contribution.Thirdly,Yuefei got married and lived in Yixing in his lifetime of struggle.Lastly,most of Yuefei’s calligraphy works were done in Yixing and his offspring also lived in Yixing.In order to dedicate people’s great appreciation for Yuefei,temples in Yixing were erected in honor of him.
