On the Historical Mission of Red Culture in the New Era

作为中国共产党带领中国人民在革命、建设和改革中创造的一种文化综合体,红色文化以马克思主义为指导,是科学的文化;以马克思主义中国化为依托,是发展的文化;以革命精神和优良传统为标识,是优秀的文化;以最广大人民的利益为根本诉求,是先进的文化。新时代,红色文化要承担起新的历史使命,就要维护马克思主义的意识形态,引领中国特色社会主义文化建设的方向;就要迎合时代发展的客观需求,推动马克思主义中国化进程;就要宣传社会主义核心价值观,凝聚新时代中国特色社会主义建设的力量;就要全心全意为人民服务,坚持中国共产党的宗旨和初心。

Red culture,as a cultural complex created in the process of revolution,construction and reform,is a scientific culture since it is guided by Marxism,a developing culture since it is based on adapting Marxism to the Chinese context,an excellent culture since it is marked with revolutionary spirit and fine traditions,an advanced culture since it is based on the interests of the majority of people.In the new era,red culture must assume new historical missions:to maintain the ideology of Marxism and lead the direction of socialist cultural construction with Chinese characteristics;to cater to the objective needs of its development and promote the process of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context;to publicize the core values of socialism and gather the power in the new era;to serve the people wholeheartedly and adhere to the purposes and original aspirations of the Communist Party of China.
