With the development of Internet,the security of IP is of increasing important. As the next generation Internet protocol, IPv6 implements authentication header and encapsulated security payload. This paper discusses the security mechanism of IPv6 ,presents the limitation in security of IPv6 and gives the scheme for the exchange of IKE.
