In the following paper, social economic and ecological problems caused by farmland shrinkage in USA is briefed about, the policy basis, essential measures and features of the farmland protection in USA are addressed, problems faced in China's arable land protection are analyzed, and the inspiration for our arable land protection drawn from USA farmland protection is discussed.
