柳宗元在柳州四年为柳州文化与经济的发展做出了重要的贡献,柳侯祠在历代柳州官员心中占有非常重要的地位,历代文人对柳宗元也给予了很高的评价,留下了许多吟咏的诗篇。

Liu Zongyuan had made great contributions to the development of Liuzhou's economy and culture during his stay in Liuzhou for four years. Liu Zongyuan Memorial Temple occupies an important place in the officials' eyes through the ages. Men of letters of past ages spoke highly of Liu Zongyuan, and had written a number of poems to praise him.
