这篇文章出自北京大学季羡林先生于 1 999年 1 1月在广州中山大学召开的纪念陈寅恪先生学术研讨会上的主题报告。文章涉及关于爱国主义和如何评价中国历史上民族英雄的重要历史课题 ,在史学界和广大师生中引起极大的反响 ,对于当今进行爱国主义教育仍具有重要的指导意义。现经季先生授权 ,特在本刊发表。在此 。
Editors note:This article was based on the key report by Ji Xianlin of Peking University at the symposium on commemorating Mr Chen Yinke, sponsored by zhongshan University in Guangzhou,in November, 1999. The article deals with patriotism and important historical issues, i.e.how to evaluate national heroes in Chinese history, resulting in arousing thunderous echoes in history academic circles and broad masses of teachers and students. It is of instructive significance for present education of patriotism.
