美统时期的菲美贸易及其对菲律宾经济的影响

On Philippine National Economy under the Influence of the U.S. - Philippines Trade During the American Colonial Period

美统时期,在美对菲关税与贸易政策主导下,菲律宾以糖、麻、椰、烟等初级产品为主的出口商品结构得到强化,并集中于对美出口;美工业制成品则构成菲进口商品的主体。此种对外贸易结构虽使菲律宾民族经济发展繁荣一时,却造成其经济结构的失衡与脆弱,以及社会问题的积累与社会发展的滞后。由此可见,具有新殖民主义特征的美菲贸易关系,对菲律宾民族经济的影响是弊大于利。

Under the policy of US tariff and trade, Philippine export structure consisting mainly of primary products such as sugar, hemp, coconut, tobacco, was strengthened during the American colonial period. It was oriented towards US market. Meanwhile, Philippine import goods were mainly composed of US industrial products. Though the foreign trade promoted development and prosperity of Philippine national economy for a time, the whole economic structure was out of balance and fragile. Moreover, the country had been confronted with many social problems and its social development bogged down. It is clear that under the influence of U.S  Philippine trade, which bore some features of new colonialism, the disadvantages outweighed the advantages for Philippine national economy.
