两千多年来 ,西方社会崇尚理性、正视人类、以人为本等长处促使科学技术有了深厚的积累 ,并由此催生出现代高科技的硕果。在科学技术发展过程中 ,社会思潮也同时发生着类似钟摆的有规律的变动。而西方人文思想 ,从总体上看 ,又是由古希腊罗马文明、基督教文化以及文艺复兴以来的人本主义观念综合交织而成的。

The long tradition of advocating rationalism and humanism in western society has prouided a sound foundation for the advance of science and technology,consequently resulting in the great achievements of modern high technology.Accompanied by the development of science and technology has been the regular change of ideological trends.In general,western humanism is the synthesis of ancient Greek and Roman civilization,Christian culture and the humanist ideology proposed since the Renaissance.
