释“昆明”

EXPLANATION OF KUNMING

“昆明”一词最初指称古代我国西南的诸部族,汉代指云南西部各族,唐代指云南全省及川西南、黔西各族。唐置昆明县后,“昆明”始用为地名。元代开始,昆明才作为地名出现在滇池之滨,此后逐渐发展成今天的昆明市。

The word of Kunming was orignally looked as the tribes in the northwest of our country in the ancient time. In the Han Dynasty , it refered to all clans in t he west of Yunnan. In the Tang Dynasty, Kunming was used for a place name. It re fered to the Yunnan Province and the tribes in the northwest of Sichuan .Since the Yuan Dynasty , Kunming as a place name was handed down. Since then it gradu ally, developed today's Kunming City.
