Statistics have proved that the derivation of Chinese idioms presents a characteristic that the older the years is, the more the amount is. This paper tries to give a rather comprehensive and reasonable explanation to this phenomena via the particular analysis of the origination, lingual characteristics, the history character at which the idioms come into being and the different lingual materials which are provided in different development phases of the idioms.
