This paper mainly discusses the process model and functional requirements of the backup environment of concurrent engineering, analyses the die product and process development procedure by using the IDEF0 functional modeling method in the process modeling and produces a graph for the product and process development model. In the functional requirement, it carries out the requirement analysis firstly and produces the functional chart of die product and process development. Four kinds of systemic functional requirements are discussed in detail: the advisory tools for the design of a product through its life cycle; information communicating and sharing capabilities; product data management and process control.
