在晚清社会有着相当影响的《万国公报》是寓华新教传教士的舆论阵地 ,是一分以宣传基督教为主旨的刊物。在长达近 40年的时间里 ,它对儒学的评析既有“耶儒相通”之言 ,也有“救世教成全儒教”之语 ,更有以基督教取代儒教之论。这些言论有合理的成分 ,但更多的是以基督教文化为中心 。

Wan kwoh kung pao, which had wide influence in late Qing Dynasty, was a journal its role was to propagate christianity.For almost 40 years,the comment and analysis on Chinese confucianism by it could be divided into three aspects: christianity and confucianism were connected;christianity helped Confucianism; and christianity replaced Confucianism. Generally speaking, there are some reasonable analysis and comments on Chinese Confucianism by wan kwoh kung pao, but at the same time,it thinks that christian culture is the center and shows on unscientific attitude towards Chinese Confucianism.
