Critique of Contract Theories and its Standard--Analysis of Jeremy Bentham's Political Philosophy of Utilitarianism

杰里米·边沁的功利主义政治哲学是建立在对传统契约论思想批判的基础之上的。他在吸收爱尔维修等人的早期功利思想的同时,系统地阐述了功利主义原理。与他们不同的是,边沁应用功利主义原理成功地改造了传统的自由主义政治哲学。自边沁以后,自由主义最重要的特征就是以功利主义原则为基础。

Jeremy Bentham's utilitarianism political philosophy is based on his critique of traditional thoughts of contract. While absorbing contract thoughts of thinkers before him such as Helvetius, he systematically brought forward and explained his utilitarianism principles. Differing from them, Bentham successfully improved traditional theories of contract and after him it was utilitarianism that constituted the most important character of libertarianism. 
