After analyzing the problems existing in the centralized rel ay-based c ontrol system, this paper introduces the application of computer programmable co ntroller in the coal handling system of Baoding Cogeneration Power Plant. This s ystem is especially suitable to the reformation and extension projects of power plants. The author introduces, in detail, the advances, practicability, and oper ational reliability and functions of the control system based on upperseat compu ter and PLC controller, which especially suits with the utilization in extension of a power plant.
