作为形象学的研究对象 ,《边城》所展示的艺术形象是全景、和谐的 ;其文化理想具有普适意味 ;儒学的道德理想、道家的审美追求、禅学的终极关怀构成它的中国形象。其形象具有三重意蕴 :整体和谐的生态形象 ,普适价值的文化形象 ,三色互补的中国形象。这三个方面分别对应“边城形象”的性状。

As the researchful object of studying of image, the artistic image what was showed in Frontier Town is panoramic and harmonious; Its cultural idea l has a universal significance; Its Chinese image was formed with the Confucian morality ideal, the Taoistic aesthetic chase and the Buddhist ultimate care. So the image of Frontier Town has the triple internal meanings : the overall a nd harmonious ecological image, the cultural image what has universal worth, and the Chinese image what is complemented each other among “the three colours”. T he three aspects correspond to the properties, essence and structure of “Fronti er Town Image” respectively.
