A Mapping Approach to Resolving Schema Incompatibility in a Federated Database System

联邦数据库系统支持异构自治多库共享,为此,系统要解决的一个主要问题是模式冲突.本文论述一种基于输入模式、输出模式和域转移函数的变换方法.通过这种变换,可以有效解决名字冲突、实体定义不兼容、域不兼容等模式冲突问题,同时还讨论了本方法的实现技术。

Schema incompatibility is a major challenge to a federated database system for data sharing among heterogeneos, multiple and autonomous DBs. This paper presents mapping approach based on import schema, export schema, and domain conversion function, through which schema incompatibility problems such as naming conflict, domain incompatibility and entity definition incompatibility can be resolved effectively. The implementation techniques are also discussed.
