库蚊属一新种记述(双翅目:蚊科)

A NEW SPECIES OF CULEX (EUMELANOMYIA) FROM CHINA (DIPTERA: CULICIDAE)

本文记述发现于云南省的库蚊属一新种,巨叶库蚊Culex(Eumelanomyia)megafolius sp.nov.并对其亲缘种巨端库蚊 Cx.(Eum.)macrastylus和山栖库蚊 Cx.(Eum.)oresbius进行分类讨论。

Culex (Eumelanomyia) megafolius sp. nov. from Yunnan Province, China, is described. On the basis of the adult, male phallosome, larval and pupal morphology, the new species evidently falls into the tenuipalpis subgroup of the Mochthogenes group as defined by Sirivanakarn (1972). With the macrostylus .Sirivanakarn and Ramalingam (1976) and oresbius Harbach and Rattanarithikul (1988) are considered to be separate but closely related sister species. The three species are differentiated only in the male genitalia. The new species can be readily separated from other two sibling species by the combination of (1) inner tergal surface of basimere without a patch of numerous weak and short setae below subapical lobe; (2) distal division arising from base of proximal division of subapical lobe (proximal and distal divisions arising separately from basimere in oresbius); (3) apex of proximal division bearing 3 stout rods and a flattened elbowlike rod at their distal part (with 3 stout rods and a bent dis-tally, bladelike rod in macrostylus); (4) lateral surface of proximal portion of stem with row of small simple setae on proximolateral margin, a median row of about 10 lanceolate setae and an upper of a prominent broad leafet (without a prominent broad leaflet but with a foliform seta and a stong normal seta in macrostylus; without leaflet or foliform seta and row of lanceolate setae in oresbius).Type specimens: Holotype ♂, Y816-21, allotype ♀, Y816-22, paratype 5♂♂, 1♀, 5 pupal skins and 16 larvae. All type specimens were collected from some small ponds, at 810-1000m in Gengma (23.5°N, 99.4°E), Ruili and Mengla, Yunnan Province and are deposited in the Guiyang Medical College and Institute of Malaria Prevention and Research of Yunnan.
