摘要
注意到白鹧雄鸟距长在一定时期内随年龄增长的事实,本文根据相邻2年同一月龄之间有12个月的间隔,距长数据除有较为集中外一定又有组间明显差别的特点,推测估计部分标本之年龄,加上确知年龄的部分标本,共测定89个个体120个距长样本数据,得到距长随年(月)龄增长的关系式:SL=am/1+bm。
According to the fact that during certain period, the length of the spur of a male Silver Pheasant (Lophura n. nycthemera) increased with its age. We tried to find out the relation between spur length and age. The measurement of spur length were done on live pheasants or specimens without obvious errors. The age of a field male younger than 17 months can be calculated accurately since May is the hatching time. The calculation can be more accurate on bred ones. Under 17 months, the relation between spur length (SL) and age (m) can be described by a regressive equation:SL=1.2633m\1+0.0032m(cor=0.9937, n=23 α < 0.05)58 measurements were tested on birds with known age and the data of spur length resulted in 23 age groups (month). For those older than 17 months, we used modified methods to estimate most of their ages.For older birds, 62 samples were measured, and average was used for more than one in dividuals with the same age. that resulted in 32 age groups (month). The equation of spur length (SL) vs. ages (m) wasSL=1.3732m\1+0.0261m(cor = 0.9906, n = 55α<0.05)A description of the growth of spur length is given by the equation.
