Carbon is a good self-lubricating and dimension stable material.It has excellentresistance to attack by chamicals and solvents.These important adventages are unique which othermaterials have not.Carbon bearings/seals are used where contamination by oil/grease is undesirable,such as in textile machine,foad handling machine,pharmaceutical processing equipmet and atomicenergy equipment etc.
