试论学衡派的文化观

A Discussion on Xueheng Pai's Overlook of Culture

本文试图通过解读《学衡》杂志,从学衡派的立足点——新人文主义出发探究其文化观,清理学衡派有关传统文化和西方文化的观点,从历史和现实两个层面对其文化改造的主张进行价值重估。本文认为,学衡派借中西融合来改造文化的思想符合思想史的运作规律,在当时是对西方现代文化和新文化运动的积极反思,至今仍可作为我们文化建设的借鉴。

This article tries to work off Xueheng Pai's viewpoint on traditional culture and occidental culture by reading and understanding The Critical Review (Xueheng). Then, it appraises their proposition of cultural reform all over again from two layers of history and reality in light of Xueheng Pai's foothold, the New Humanism. Xueheng Pai hoped to reform the culture by fusing Chinese culture and occidental culture. The author believes that this proposition is in conformity with the law of the development of thinking history. It was a kind of positive reconsideration of occidental modern culture and May 4th New culture Movement at that time. It also can be used to construct our existing culture as the experience.
