Opportunities and challenges of agricultural engineering at comprehensive universities

在对农业工程学科发展现状及趋势进行分析的基础上 ,着重探讨了综合性大学中农业工程学科发展所面临的机遇与挑战 ,提出了综合性大学农业工程学科建设应与综合性大学的整体办学目标相一致 ;应强调与相关学科的交叉与融合 ,在交叉与融合中求得发展 ;应重点关注农业工程学科前沿方向的研究 ,跟踪世界农业工程学科的最新发展。

On the basis of analyzing the current situation and the development tendencies of agricultural engineering, the opportunity and challenge of introducing the agricultural engineering at a comprehensive university was approached. It was concluded that the developing aim of the agricultural engineering discipline, at comprehensive university, should be in accordance with the whole aim and philosophy of the university. Meanwhile, attention needs to be paid to the tendency towards interdisciplinary studies. The concern of the discipline itself, to follow forefront research area and advanced development in the world, should be its primary goal.
