The effect of massage on growth and development in infants

目的 研究皮肤按摩对婴儿生长发育的影响。 方法 选择正常健康足月儿 6 0名 ,随机分为按摩组和对照组。按摩组婴儿于生后第 1天开始皮肤按摩 ,每天 3次 ,每次 15 m in;于生后第 3天、第 2 8天行新生儿行为神经测查 ( NBNA) ;于生后第 4 2天测量体重、身长、头围及血红蛋白。 结果 出生后 2 8d NBNA测查 ,按摩组视听定向能力及主动运动能力优于对照组 ,NBNA总分高于对照组 ;第 4 2天体重、身长、头围和血红蛋白按摩组均较对照组高 ,差异有显著性 ( P<0 .0 5 )。

Objective To study the effect of massage on growth and development in infants. Methods Sixty normal term infants were divided into two groups randomly:massage group and control group.Massage group received massage from the 1 st day to the 42 nd day after birth,which was performed fifteen minutes every time and three times a day.The weight,body length,head circumference,the contain of hemoglobin and the neonatal behavioral neurological assessment (NBNA) were used to evaluate growth and development of the two groups. Results The average weight,body length,head circumference,and the contain of hemoglobin of Massage group were higher than those of Control group on the 42 nd day after birth (P<0 05).In the results of NBNA,the total score of Massage group was much higher than that of Control group on the 28 th day after birth (P<0 01).At the same time,the scores of the audiovisual orientating function and motor ability of Massage group were better than those of Control group as well. Conclusion Massage can improve growth and development of normal term infants apparently.
