On the Limitation of Bent-French Method

本文讨论使用平衡移动法测定稳定常数时常见的两种错误:(1)不适当地将配体的分析浓度代替平衡浓度;(2)错误地将该法使用于逐级配位体系。我们通过数学分析阐明了由此产生严重的后果。

This paper deals with two sorts of mistake often occurring in the determination of stability constants by Bent-Ferneh method, i. e. (1) replacing inappropriately the equilibrium concentration of complexing agent [R] with initial concentration (C_i^R), (2) misusing this method in stepwise complex systems. After mathematical analysis we have elucidated the serious consequences resulted from misusing.
